A spike is triggered by a supervisor when texter volume exceeds Crisis Counselor capacity. Spike team members that have signed up for that time will receive a text or phone call (you set your own preferences!) letting them know extra help is needed.
If they are available, CCs can sign onto the platform and list their status as “SPIKE” so Supervisors and other Crisis Counselors know they’ve come to help. Each day of the week has a Spike Captain that will be on to support as well.
