Can Crisis Text Line write me a Letter of Recommendation?

When a volunteer Crisis Counselor completes 200 hours of volunteer work, they may be eligible for a Letter of Recommendation. The following criteria apply to our Letter of Recommendation process:

  • A standard template is used for the Letters of Recommendation we submit.
  • Our letter can only be submitted electronically, and will have an electronic signature. This means we cannot mail or fax documents.
  • If the LOR is for a school program, we will provide (upload) a letter for a maximum of 3 programs, so choose your programs carefully!
  • We are only able to provide a Letter of Recommendation, and no further personal evaluations or assessments. (Ex: If there are any additional external forms or questions, it is highly likely “N/A” will be selected, as many of these questions ask for specifics we simply cannot answer because they’re unrelated to your work at Crisis Text Line.)
  • While we are happy to submit letters on your behalf, we do not conduct further interviews (phone, in-person, etc).

Current vCCs who wish to receive their Letter of Recommendation, may reach out to their Success Coach!
