Taking time off and Missing A Shift
We understand life happens and you may need to take some time away from the Platform. Make sure you take the time you need to fill your cup!
Taking time off:
Taking time off notifies us that you are unable to volunteer during a certain period of time. When you take time off, you don’t have to cancel individual shifts. Take time off when you are going on vacation, taking a leave of absence, or for another reason.
To take time off, select “Take Time Off” in the top right.
Then enter your start and end dates and reason you’re away. After you hit “Submit,” you’ll see the time off indicated on your calendar. Any shifts during that time will be greyed out - you’re not expected to attend them.
Missing a shift:
We understand life happens! Sometimes you might not make your shift, and that's okay. If you know in advance that you won't be able to make your shift, you can either...
- Delete the shift - if it is a weekly shift, this will delete your regular slot for all weeks. Keep that in mind!
- Schedule time off - this will not disrupt a weekly schedule; it will take effect only for the days you select
...to let us know you won't be able to make it! This helps us with coordinating Supervisor coverage and allows other vCCs to fill in if it's a high demand shift. We really appreciate you letting us know when you can!
However, if you have an emergency, don't worry about this step. Take care of yourself, fill your cup, and we will see you back on the Platform when you're able.
